Served as general counsel for multi-state travel industry business, covering commercial real estate matters, private equity structuring, regulatory and compliance, corporate governance, consumer contracts, litigation, and labor and employment law.
Successfully defended real estate portfolio investor in a Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation appeal involving alleged release of contaminants on a property and alleged failure to follow the department’s records and reporting protocols.
Served as general counsel for one of the Nashville area’s top general contractors specializing in large multifamily and single-family housing developments, assisting with extensive due diligence analysis, title and survey reviewing, rezoning applications, environmental and regulatory compliance, lending and finance, corporate governance matters, and litigation.
​Pursued claims on behalf of our client against its building contractor and construction management company and won a six-figure judgment at a jury trial.
Represented minority owner in one of Tennessee’s fastest-growing cannabis companies that was sued by another member of the company following a buyout attempt. We settled the case where our client bought out the other owners and secured a six-figure discount on the purchase price offered before litigation.
Successfully defended technology company against high six figure breach of contract claim in arbitration where our client was found to owe $0 at final arbitration trial.
Midtown won a jury trial on all counts for a client involved in a partnership dispute where each party brought claims for breach of the company operating agreement, among other claims.

MORE RECENT:
Midtown’s corporate client received a former employee claim for unpaid wages. With Midtown’s response and representation, the matter settled outside of court with Midtown’s client paying $0 to the former employee.
Midtown Legal recently won a Motion to Dismiss for the benefit of a corporate client who had construction improvements performed at its retail storefront. Our client was sued under the TN Prompt Pay Act, alleging that our client was liable for $300 per day of damages. We moved to dismiss this claim, arguing that the statute is permissive, and the contract was silent on this issue. Our brief was so strong the other side agreed with us and voluntarily dismissed their own claim.
Midtown Legal’s closely held corporate client had a member owner of the company deposit a customer payment of nearly $80,000 into his personal bank account. One business day after receipt of our letter, the member owner of the company wired the money into our corporate client’s bank account and returned the corporate car that we demanded back.
After winning a six figure jury judgment in a construction defect case, the Midtown Legal team successfully prevailed in a motion for its attorney fees. Thus requiring the other parties to pay Midtown’s attorney fees for our client.
Midtown successfully defended its client at a damages hearing, where our client was only found liable for 1/6 of the requested damages. This figure was far less than any proposed settlement by the Plaintiff.

After winning a jury verdict for our client, Midtown successfully defended the verdict against a Motion for New Trial and Demurrer. The motions were denied, and the verdict stands.
